Coming from a strict conservative family of heavy religious belief, Niga Salam went through a lot on the way to reaching where she is now; an activist, an artist and independent in her actions. She spent a lot on the quest for getting meaningful experience and as a female in a strict society and coming from a strict family it wasn’t easy. She used common sense and logic to argue what her surroundings believed and shattered the barriers on her way one by one until she reached her academic studies in college of Fine Arts in Sulaymaniyah. Even though it was still hard for her to attend for the view on art was also a taboo especially for a woman, she was determined to learn and help others around her through her artworks, to spread messages and stimulate critical thinking even in the most dim minds thus helping in a subtle movements toward a better day for future generations and even the current one.
